World Health Organization (WHO)
Water and Sanitation resources include “ Managing Water in the Home: Accelerated Health Gains from Improved Water Supply”.  A WHO 2002 document includes chapters on storage,  treatment, heat and UV radiation, sedimentation and filtration, chemical methods, and social and economic aspects.

Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)

Buckets for Life
The Newman Center, EIU, sponsors a water project in Barasa, Haiti. This water project is a gravity flow filtration system that uses 5 gallon buckets, a carbon filter and cotton filter. Studies show a 90% reduction in water borne pathogens for $15 US. Developed by Industry for the Poor.
